We stayed in Haines for 3 days and it was quite a decent stay and a well deserved break from all the driving . We stayed at the Beach Roadhouse, It was a one bedroom cottage with a small kitchenette and a BBQ. A beautiful location nestled between tress at the end of the main road.

The only issue we ran into was that Haines being a Tourist Town, just about every restaurant is closed Thursday through to Sunday. So, getting decent food was an issue but they had a supermarket and we got out standard groceries for the few days.
Also remember you can’t take any food out of the US so you must make sure to buy just enough.
I was in Haines specifically for Grizzlies and we saw a few but everyone was there for the same reason and they usually come out at the end of the day and we only had one decent chance at photographing them.
Nothing much to do apart from walking around town and as mentioned make sure you plan your lunch, the only family restaurant downtown or on the dock had closed down but a few places where open which didn't look family friendly to me.
We hiked the Battery Pt trailhead in the Chilkat state Park and that was fun walk with my daughter.

The Bald Eagle Sanctuary was an interesting place with lots of taxidermy

We headed out on Sunday back to Whitehorse en-route to our next Stop Carcross, the only Desert in North America. This is beautiful Place and the Desert is real, nestled between snow peaked mountains.

The info center is pretty decent and clean but the only campsite we found was the worst campsite I had ever been too, I don’t think it had ever been cleaned since it opened who knows when. NOTE: There is no water at this campsite but again if you end up here you will have no choice.
Next Stop was Liard Hot Springs and we saw a staggering 20 plus bears on the way and such a beautiful drive too. Liard hot springs campsite was one of the cleanest ones on our journey, it was packed so make sure to book a spot before arriving. I hope we had spent more time here, the Hot springs are amazing and again clean, the board walk to the springs was nice too.

After Liard Hot Spring it was back on the road and heading home , we took the same road back but the drive was still breath taking.
All in All, I will be doing the same route again soon, but next time take my time at each site to really take time to appreciate the beauty of this country I am privileged to call home.
