After weeks of looking for snowy owls I finally got a chance to see my first one on a crisp morning, the temp was hovering in the mid -20 and if you are reading this from a warm place it was COOOLD.

I got my camera out and took a few shots and looked at the camera screen and it was all white, quickly realizing photographing a Snowy in snow is tricky. Adjusted my settings and took a few more and again couldn’t get the pic I wanted.

After a few more tries finally got the shots I wanted and decided to run back to the car before I lost some fingers .

Moved on to look for the next one and this time it stayed on the light pole , I had a sigh of relief that I didn’t have to come out of the car to save my fingers😉 .

Took a few more shots and after about 2 hours decided to get a warm cup of Java, this one was well deserved.

As the temperatures got better in the afternoon decided to head out again and try my luck and to my delight saw some beautiful birds. If you have kids or are big kid like me and enjoy watching animated movies and love owls, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of the Ga’hoole is a must watch.
